Brenda Cox
INTERIM PRINCIPAL | 8TH GRADE HOMEROOM
Mrs. Brenda Cox joined the Mt. Calvary teaching staff in August of 1989. She grew up in Wisconsin. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education with an English major from Concordia College – St. Paul. She has been teaching here at Mt. Calvary for her whole career (35+ years) as a middle school teacher. Mrs. Cox is married and has three daughters who attended Mt. Calvary from preschool through eighth grade. Awarded: LEA Distinguished Teacher, 2023.
Lucky Lounbandith
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN
Mrs. Lucky Lounbandith joined Mt. Calvary as part of our Infant and Toddler staff in 2021 at our preschool, and the following year, she took the role of the Transitional Kindergarten teacher. She attended California State University of Fresno and received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development with a minor in Special Education and Biblical Studies at Fresno Pacific University. Mrs. Lucky Lounbandith has served as an early childhood educator and teacher for children ages six weeks to five years old for seven years.
Nancy Hobbs
KINDERGARTEN
Mrs. Nancy Hobbs joined the Mt. Calvary teaching staff in August of 1994 and has been teaching Kindergarten at Mt. Calvary for 18 years. She holds a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies and a Lutheran Teacher Certificate from Concordia University, Irvine, as well as an M.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Fullerton. She has served as a California credentialed elementary teacher in Lutheran Schools for the entirety of her 30+ year career. Mrs. Hobbs is married and has two daughters who attended Mt. Calvary from preschool through eighth grade.
Lisa Stade
1ST GRADE
Mrs. Stade was raised in Modesto, California. I attended Concordia University, Irvine, and received my Bachelor of Arts Degree and California Teaching Credential. I’m currently in my 35th year of teaching. My husband and I live in Fontana with our dog, Daisy.
Martha Cruz
3RD GRADE
Mrs. Cruz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of La Verne. With the exception of 4th-grade, she has taught students in grades 1 through 8 and has a special passion for teaching 3rd-grade, which she finds especially rewarding. Her Christ-centered classroom emphasizes academic growth, personal responsibility, and a supportive learning environment.
Kaitlyn Todd
5TH GRADE
Ms. Todd earned her bachelor’s degree from Concordia University. She has several years of experience in education, including tutoring, and has served as a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher in the Walnut/Diamond Bar and Fullerton school districts. She also worked as an English tutor at Mt. San Antonio College, helping students strengthen their reading and writing skills.
Joseph Siekmann
7TH GRADE HOMEROOM
I’m Mr. Siekmann! I grew up in the Lutheran church and school system. My immediate family has strong ties with Concordia University, Irvine. I attended both Santiago Canyon College and CUI for my undergraduate studies in Liberal Arts: Education, with a concentration in Christ College, as well as a concentration in European History. I am currently working on clearing my preliminary teaching credential, and am working on obtaining a Master’s in Education. I have a wife and two daughters, who you may see around campus or at church.
Maria Hemming
ESL / SPANISH TEACHER
Hi MCL Family! My name is Maria Paula Hemming. I’ve been teaching at Mt. Calvary Lutheran (MCL) for a total of four years. I started my journey in 2016 as a preschool teacher in Room 1. In 2022, I transitioned to teaching Spanish for grades 4-8 and ESL (English as a Second Language) for our international students. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Spanish and Spanish Literature, which ignited my passion for language and culture. I’m married to Austin, and we have three wonderful children—Adriana, Draco, and Ryder—who also attend Mt. Calvary. It’s a joy to be part of such a vibrant community, both as a teacher and a parent.
Michael Espinoza
PE / ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Hello, my name is Michael Espinoza, the new PE teacher and Athletic Director here at Mt. Calvary. I am an alumni from the school, graduated in 2014, so I’m excited to be back in my old stomping grounds. I went to High School at Bishop Amat and then graduated with a bachelors of science from San Francisco State University. My hobbies consist of going golfing, to sporting events, and reading sports articles and journals.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER DIRECTOR (ECC)
Hello! My name is Georgette Catano, and I am the Early Childhood Center Director here at MCL. I began my journey working in SAC in 2007, moved to the preschool in 2009, and have been the director since 2016. I am also an alumna of MCL, having attended from preschool through 8th grade (class of 2001). I truly grew up here at Mt. Calvary and consider it an honor to call this my home church. My husband, Art, and I welcomed our first baby girl, Marley, in December 2024, and we cannot wait for her to join the MCL family soon. It has been a joy to be a part of MCL all my life, and I look forward to many more years to come.
