WHY CHOOSE MCL

CHRIST CENTERED

Providing a firm foundation for life by teaching God’s Word and the message of salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ. Mt. Calvary is intentionally Christ-centered in both curriculum and culture, and instruction at MCL acknowledges that all life, knowledge, and meaning extend from our Creator.

Our Christ-centered curriculum means we do more than simply provide a religion class among many other classes. Rather, by integrating the Scriptures throughout the curriculum, we present the Lord as the One in whom all knowledge is united. This approach requires that all subjects, whether history, art, music, literature, mathematics, or science, be taught in the light of God’s existence and His revelation to humanity through His Son, Jesus Christ.

FAMILY FOCUSED

Being intentionally connected in a personal way with students and their families is a priority at Mt. Calvary. Well-informed, engaged parents make a difference for student success in school and beyond.

A home environment that encourages learning is a bigger factor in student achievement than a parent’s income, education level or cultural background. Whether it’s reading together, monitoring homework at the kitchen table, talking to teachers about a child’s progress, joining PTL or taking an active part in school activities, parent involvement is vital to student achievement.

FAITH ALL DAY LONG

The Christian faith is discussed and experienced every day in all classes, in the classroom, the playground and beyond. Faith-based education is rooted in compassion and empathy. An education that is based upon the Word of God will have a central focus on developing compassion, leading students to long-term relational and professional success.

In a report published by USA Today, they found: “in 12 studies over the past 15 years that relied on the research method of random assignment, 11 showed that students using vouchers to attend private and faith-based schools had higher reading and math scores and higher graduation rates and college attendance than students who remained in their public schools.” The correlation between a faith-based education and long-term academic success is a strong one.

Our smaller classroom sizes allows for a personalized understanding of student needs and differential educational methods. MCL currently offers one classroom per grade.

GET TO KNOW US BETTER
MCL Family

“We are so happy making the switch from public to a private Christian school. The small class size allows the teaching to be more individualized and easy to address areas needing  improvement.  More importantly, my kids are learning the Word of God every day.  That is food for the heart and their soul. It is a financial commitment, but one that is well spent when I hear my kids teach me about the love of Christ! We know it is money well spent.”

“Having graduated from Mt. Calvary myself, I knew I wanted to someday send my children back to the place where my faith and education began. Mt. Calvary delivers beyond the sense of community, it fosters a place where you feel like family. Faith and education converge in a way that makes me confident my two boys will be molded to understand God and be pushed to be the best version of themselves they can be. Their is no greater value to me as a parent than that.”
