Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool is accredited through National Lutheran Schools Association (NLSA) and serves families with children who are 2 – 5 years of age (children should be toilet trained).  All of our highly qualified teaching staff are trained in early childhood education and meet all state requirements to teach preschoolers. Most importantly, all are Christian teachers who have a passionate love for your children!

Approach to Excellence

Mt. Calvary School has been successful in our mission of providing a Christian education of excellence where students C.A.R.E. by developing Christian values, Academic advancement, becoming Responsible citizens, and Effective communicators.  We are able to reach this goal through our “Approach to Excellence” in education as well as in our thorough selection of preschool curriculum.

Curriculum and interactions foster positive identity and a sense of emotional well-being.  Social skills are developed by honoring the values of respect, diversity, and empathy.
Children are encouraged to think, reason, question, problem solve, and experiment as they develop through active learning. Print rich learning environments and an extensive choice of materials facilitate language, literacy, and math development appropriate to each age group.
Children are free to express themselves through individual and social play.  The individual learning style of each child is valued and fostered.
Time, space, and tools are provided in the classroom and outside for active play to develop gross and fine motor skills.
Spiritual growth is developed in all children through activities involving Bible stories and songs, understanding the importance of Jesus’ love, attending weekly Children’s Chapel, and instilling the importance of treating others in a Christian way at all times.

Preschool Curriculum

Our developmentally appropriate programs provide opportunities for children to broaden and deepen their knowledge by providing a variety of media and experiences such as drawing, painting, construction of models, dramatic play, story time, music, movement, science, cooking and writing. “Our children have gone to Mt. Calvary Preschool for three years and I highly recommend them. As a parent you want to find a loving, fun and safe preschool for your child to grow and learn. A great bonus is that they are academically strong as well. When our daughter started Kindergarten at the public school, I noticed she was repeating what she had learned the previous year at Mt. Calvary Preschool. Our children are excited to go to preschool and I give all the credit to the teachers and administrator for making it a fun and loving place for the kids.”
Jennifer Hamilton, Preschool Parent
