TUITION & FEES 2017-2018

Mt. Calvary Lutheran School is a private non-profit ministry of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. We do not receive state or federal tax support like public schools.  Our school is financed by tuition, registration fees and our commitment to spending wisely. We offer discounts for families who pay their tuition in full by July 1st, for families with more then one child enrolled, and a generous new student referral program. We also offer need-based financial assistance through FAST.

• Families can choose one of two 10-month payment plans:  1) July 2017 – April 2018,   2) August 2017 – May 2018
• Monthly payment may be subdivided into two payments per month.
• A lump sum payment of any amount is acceptable and will prorate the amount of the following monthly payments.
• Monthly payments can be paid at any time during the month.

Additional Annual Fees

  • Mandatory Fees: Student District Fee, Student ID Card, Yearbook and Earthquake Supplies
  • Grade Level Fees: Kindergarten Supplies, Agenda, Faith Alive Student Bible, Foreign Language, Scholastic Magazine and Field Trips
  • Optional Fees: Hot Lunch Program through Southland Catering, After School Enrichment Programs

Financial Assistance

Making Quality Private Education Affordable

Mt. Calvary Lutheran School offers financial assistance to qualifying families.  We utilize Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), a third party service, to help determine financial needs of families. Using an outside agency such as FAST allows MCL to protect families and give them complete confidentiality and to provide third party objectivity.

You can apply online directly with FAST.  There will be a $43 processing fee. FAST will ask for a copy of your most recent tax return. Approximately 6 weeks after the application is submitted, Mt. Calvary will receive a report and make a final determination of financial aid.

We are excited to be able to formally offer this service to our parents, and we believe that it will allow more of those who are seeking a Christian Education for their child to realize their desires.

General Guidelines to determine if you might be a candidate for assistance:

Income Under $40,000
If your family’s total income is under $40,000, you will probably qualify for some amount of financial aid. The maximum aid available is 50% of tuition for those who qualify.

Income Over $40,000
If your family’s income exceeds $40,000, then your tuition costs must be at least 10% of your income to qualify for financial aid (e.g. an income of $50,000 would require a tuition of $5,000 or more to qualify). This would only apply to families who have two or more children enrolled in K-8th grades.
