DAY CARE FOR ONLINE SCHOOL

Our Church Council has approved the conversion of our Summer Day Camp into a Fall Student Day Care offered only to MCL families who need supervised care for their school aged children, ages 5-14, before and after school, as well as supervision for them while they attend class on-line form 8 am -3 pm.

Here are some of the details:

  1. Families would pay a fee of $20 per day or $75 per week, per child, for any of the time outlined above that their child would be at Mt Calvary. It is expected that children would be in attendance for the entire school day from 8 am to 3 pm for the sake of continuity and to fulfill the on-line class attendance requirements.
  2. Parents would need to pre-register their child if they want to make use of this service so that staff can be prepared to support them as outlined above. Forms will be available on-line, or in the MCL office starting August 18, or at the time or your Classroom Appointment. You can sign up using this form by clicking the below button.
  3. Students would be expected to bring their own lunches and snacks, and water bottle as we cannot provide food service during this time of Covid.

Daily Schedule:

6:30 am—8:00 am   SAC Day Care which will take place in the regular SAC Room at MCL, following the usual routines of our School Age Care Program

8:00 am—3:00 pm   On-line Support for Students  The MCL students who registers for this service will bring their own computer/on-line access device and headphones/earbuds to SAC every day. Mt Calvary will provide a “learning station” where each child will access their on-line instruction and follow the lessons of the day. Children will be given support and assistance from a SAC Staff person as they experience their on-line instruction, but are not to be considered as tutors. Depending on the enrollment and ages of children, they may be organized in age-similar groups for instructional support and peer socialization. Group size will be limited to no more than 12. Students will be expected to keep up with their school work and follow along under the direction of their on-line teacher. Students will get breaks and lunch where they will be supervised by SAC staff.

3:00—6:00 pm   SAC Day Care continues to operate as they normally would for the rest of the afternoon, with staff providing homework support and other social activities.
